We are so excited to announce we are now photographers that travel to nantucket for weddings. When I was in college I learned about a small island off the coast of Cape Cod called Nantucket. I didn’t know much about it-but I was lured by the idea that I could escape from all of my troubles, to a 14 mile long island with sandy beaches, by finding a summer job that would house me. I soon found a summer job as a nanny, and moved to Nantucket for the summer. That summer was a year of growth for me as it was my first time ever leaving Buffalo, alone. It was met with a mix of homesickness and a hard lesson in independence, but also a beautiful transformation of my ability to trust myself. Sitting on a sand dune and watching the waves crash in, (as I often did in my personal time), I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and knowing that everything was okay.
Fast forward to 13 years later, it’s been a dream of mine since starting our photography business to photograph a wedding on Nantucket. This September, that dream became a reality when Danea & Shannon got married at the Hi Nantucket Hostel on Surfside Beach. We got to meet up for them a few nights before their wedding to photograph a quick engagement session in the dunes of Surfside.
We’ll be sharing that blog post soon with more photos but we already are dreaming of returning to Nantucket next September- October to photograph a handful of more weddings, engagements and family sessions.
