We love photographing weddings along the Great Lakes. Rachel and Will had an elegant wedding in Sodus Bay with the ceremony outside on the Sodus Bay Lighthouse Museum lighthouse lawn. The lighthouse was built on 1871, and overlooks Lake Ontario. The simple floral arch was the perfect complement to such a beautiful view. After the ceremony, their reception took place at the Sodus Bay Heights Golf Club, both on Lake Ontario. As Great Lakes wedding photographers, there is nothing better than having a beautiful lake as the backdrop!
We loved the attention to detail that both Rachel and Will brought to their wedding and the way they brought themselves into their wedding day. Rachel is an incredible potter and made all of her guests beautiful lumineere’s as their thank you gift. The couple were married by Rachel’s brother, Pastor Matthew Kofahl, in a personalized ceremony overlooking the water.
We also are obsessed with Rachel’s dress made by Tadashi Shoji from BHLDN. It was a lace embroidered gown, with a sheer bateau neckline and sheer back. Rachel’s bridesmaids matched perfectly in tulle bridesmaids gowns with beading. Will wore a custom designed Tux, and we love his polka-dot bow tie! In Bloom Florals created gorgeous bouquets with beige roses, silver dollar eucalyptus, and ranunculus.
A highlight of Rachel and Will’s wedding was all of the toasts in their honor. It is a tradition in their family to have anyone who wants to speak give a toast at the wedding. We loved learning more about our couple’s through the words of their friends and family. There is nothing that beats a good toast at a wedding and Rachel and Will had more than a handful of them!
A big thank you to all the wedding day vendors (All travel to the Sodus Bay area!)
