Ally and Ryan had a beautiful destination Adirondack wedding at the Covewood Lodge in Eagle bay, NY. We were so excited to go back to the Adirondacks again to photograph a wedding photograph there. We photograph 3-4 weddings every year in the Adirondacks and every year we get more excited to go back. The Covewood Lodge is right outside of Inlet, one of our favorite Adirondack towns to visit and photograph. The Covewood Lodge is a great destination venue since all of the guests can stay on site. It sits right on Big Moose Lake, in central Adirondacks with beautiful views of the lake and luscious trees surrounding the cabins and venue.
The couple wanted to make the occasion perfect for their guests, so they arrived at The Covewood Lodge a few days early to make each and every bed for their guests. The linens are not included in The Covewood Lodge’s stay, (something to note if you’re planning a wedding there), so Ally and Ryan went the extra mile and made the beds for their guests. Talk about a labor of love for their family and friends!
Their wedding was held under a beautiful, big white tent and they had a special Neon Sign made for a photo booth that read, “April Fools” because not only are Ally and Ryan born on April Fools, two other wedding guests are also born on that date! They topped off bringing their personalities into their wedding with a signature lavender lemonade vodka. Catering was provided from Utica’s A Moveable Feast, set up as stations, and it was some of the most delicious wedding food we’ve ever eaten!
Adirondack Wedding at The Covewood Lodge
This wedding was filled with DIY elements, including the beautiful and delicious cake made by their sister-in-law, and the signs that were handmade. Our favorite touch? Ally’s aunt grew all of Ally and Ryan’s wedding flowers from seeds. How incredible and heartfelt is that?! The flowers were incredible, with large silver dollar eucalyptus, ferns, Amaranthus, white gerpom, and blue thistle.
Ally wore a crepe and lace Rime Arodaky gown, that had cap sleeves and a keyhole back. It was perfect for an outdoor wedding since it bustled so easily! Ally was able to walk around and be comfortable, and enjoy the day. The reception was tented and faced the lake for incredible views. We love photographing lake weddings in the Adirondacks! We also loved the open seating plan they had. Guests were able to sit wherever they wanted and got to choose from multiple stations for dinner. Ally and Ryan created a wedding that was not only beautiful but also special and intimate for their guests.
