We love this family so much! Our friendship with Bryan and Ashley goes way back to our days living in NYC, and even farther back for Brian who went to highs school with Bryan. So last month when we visited NYC we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make a quick pit stop in Montclair, New Jersey to spend a relaxing afternoon with them and their amazing daughter Emma. While we were there Brian photographed a mini film family session for them right inside of their home with a few surrounding the neighborhood. These are our favorite sessions to photograph!

We love being able to travel and capture these little moments for our clients, and our friends. As family photographers, it is so nice to be able to come back year after year, and watch the families grow! We like to also use film when we shoot. These film sessions are similar in feel to our digital sessions, except that they are photographed on film. This process gives them more of a rawness, with some grain. We’ve always felt a strong pull to document families in and around there homes. I love an epic location as much as the next person, but there is something about being in a families own home which makes everything a little more real.
