We’re so excited to start sharing some of our amazing weddings from 2020! We’re starting with Sooin & Ende’s beautiful March Wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden near Prospect Park!
Are you thinking of a late winter/early spring wedding in New York City or Brooklyn? There are a few advantages to getting married in the offseason in New York. First, some venues might offer off-season specials. Also, photogenic places such as the botanical garden won’t be as crowded outdoors, making it less of a chance a random tourist shows up in your photos.
March weddings in New York City can be hit or miss with the weather. So choosing a beautiful indoor/outdoor location like the Botanical Gardens can ensure you have beautiful photos no matter what! It was a bit colder and windy for Sooin and Ende’s wedding, but they braved the outdoors for portraits with their bridal party! It was such a beautiful golden hour.
Sooin was also able to get ready at her indoor dress shop. This was so much fun, with all of the beautiful gowns surrounding her. We loved the matching silk robes she bought for her bridal party to wear! And we loved her mother’s traditional gown she wore to help Sooin get in her dress. Sooin chose a beautiful beaded sheath gown by Karen Willis Holmes, with lots of detail. The delicate floral design had buttons down the back, and delicate straps.
Ende and his groomsmen got ready closer to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. Our second shooter got some pre-first look portraits at the gardens. Because New York City can be complicated with traffic and travel time, we always recommend getting ready as close to your venue as possible so you can make the most of your photography time!
A classic wedding at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
We took the first look and bridal party portraits outside of the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It was such a sweet moment between the two! After, we explored the inside gardens area for portraits for the two of them. You can barely tell we were inside for these portraits because the gardens are so full of greenery!
These two look incredible and classic! They chose a color palette of navy, blush and gray. The men wore classic navy suits, with black details. The ladies wore blush gowns, with Sooin’s Bridesman wearing a soft gray tux.
After portraits, it was time for their ceremony! Their beautiful ceremony took place inside The Palm House, which had the perfect lighting. The whole building is made of glass, from the walls to the ceiling. After we walked outside for some more bride and groom portraits, we headed back inside The Palm House, where the space had been flipped for the reception. Round tables were set perfectly for guests, with large floral displays that left everyone in awe. The couple danced the night away, with their closest family and friends!
