Moorings Beach Family Session, Naples Florida Film Family Photographer
We are so excited to be living and photographing families in Naples, Florida full-time starting August 2022! We’ve been traveling back and forth between Buffalo and Naples for the last three years and we finally decided to give Naples a more full-time try for the 2022-2023 year! We’ll be renting right in downtown Naples and available for local photo sessions as well as destinations nearby like Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, and Fort Myers. I first met Ryan and Meghan back in 2015 when we photographed their wedding in Ellicottville, NY. I was so thrilled when Ryan initially reached out for family photos. He wanted to surprise his wife Meghan with the session and was open to doing it either in Buffalo, NY or in Naples, FL where they would happen to be traveling at the same time we were down there spending a month, (looking for apartments and scoping out schools!). We settled on photographing them in Naples, FL in December and I’m so glad we did because the beach made for a gorgeous backdrop for photos.
The session took place at Moorings beach, which is a short 5 min. drive from downtown Naples, Florida. It was the week after Christmas and the public beaches were overly packed, which is why we chose the quieter and more private Moorings Beach. I love that the Moorings beach offers aice green space before you enter the beach. A well-shaded green space is important in Florida because it gives you a location to photograph when it’s too bright to shoot on the beach.
Once the sun started to set and the light wasn’t as harsh, we headed to the beach and the light was perfect for catching candids of everyone playing near the shoreline.
We wrapped the session up just before the sun fully set, as the kids were getting tired and we all needed to get the sand off our feet before heading home. It was so good to see a past wedding client and local Buffalonians while in Naples and we’re hoping in 2022-2023 that is the case more often than not!
