Angola Beach House Family Session | Angola, NY
We’ve known the Schenk family for quite some time now- it was years ago we photographed their wedding which was nicknamed “The ShawSchenk Reception” due to their last names put together being so close to Shawshank Redemption. We still smile thinking about their wedding and now that they have a little human that isn’t so little anymore, there is, even more, to smile about.
Stephanie and Andy are some of the sweetest people you could ever meet and it’s always a joy to work with them again. This time I met up with them to photograph them at Evangola State Park by a summer house they had rented for a vacation. It was a beautiful summer evening with a little wind and I’m so thrilled with how the photos on film turned out.
Evangola State Park is one of my favorite places to photograph in the summer because of the clean lines and white sand on the beach. However, the sun does set right on the water, so sessions have to start a bit later than usual. For this reason, sessions at Evangola State park are best for families with a little bit older of children so that the session doesn’t interfere with their bedtime. Also, it can be a bit busy in the summer, so having a private rental was a luxury to not have to deal with other people around and in the photos. In September, the summer crowd disappears, so that’s also a great time to photograph at Evangola. And the weather is still usually beautiful in September!
