We are so excited to share this wedding. Brian & Jon have known each other since 10th grade in high school and have remained close friends since. (Jon was in our wedding party as well!). This was our first time photographing a wedding in Florida and we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to do so with. Jon & Joylynn are as sweet and loving as they come and to top it off, some of the most generous people we’ve ever met. We stayed the week with them in Tampa before hitting St. Pete’s beach for their wedding weekend. They held their rehearsal dinner at The Post Card Inn the night before where we had a wonderful celebration with friends & family. The next morning they held an 11 am beach ceremony at the Grand Plaza Hotel & Beach Resort on St. Pete’s beach, (which we will admit, scared us to be photographing at that time in the middle of summer on the beach). But then, that blue sky arrived. All of our fears were eased when we removed our shoes and felt the sand between our toes and saw the most perfect day we had been given.

When Melissa and John told us their wedding was going to central around Buffalo, we were ecstatic. We love working with clients that have an appreciation of Buffalo & Photography and choose to mix the two. The Buffalo theme started back with Melissa and John’s engagement session which was completed in Forest Lawn and on Buffalo’s waterfront and continued through to their wedding. John even incorporated the Buffalo Subway into his wedding by riding it from his waterfront hotel to the ceremony. Melissa and John’s ceremony was held at Christ the King Chapel at Canisius College. For portraits, we headed down to Buffalo’s Central Terminal (and got a surprise ghost tour while we were at it!), and we then headed to Marcy Casino for the reception. (And a quick shout out here to the awesome Paula’s Donut Wedding Cake and the Watson’s Sponge Candy Favors! Two of our favorite deserts!) There were so many highlights from Melissa and John’s day it was tough to choose our favorites for the blog, but we finally cut it down to a manageable blog post and now we can’t wait to share these with you 🙂
