As a Birth Photographer in Naples, FL , I am currently photographing births that are using facilities within a 10 mile radius of my home, including home births, hospital births and births that take place at a birth center like the Family Birth Center of Naples.
Contact me to learn moreOver the last decade-plus, I have photographed over 150 weddings with my husband, Brian. Then, in 2016 I decided to take a short hiatus from weddings to work on personal projects. Soon after, we found ourselves pregnant with our first baby. Fast forward 10 months later, after 68+ hours of labor, we gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Vera. After the birth of my daughter, I felt a shift deep inside; a closed piece of my heart cracked wide open. Later, I found myself journaling about a strong pull to be reconnected to the birthing process, a desire to be involved in a separate way other than just experiencing it myself. I wasn’t sure what this way of reconnection would be, but slowly, the pieces are coming together.
I photographed my first birth when my daughter turned 8 weeks old. The call came in the middle of the night and my heartbeat was my first indication that this call to photograph births was something I would need to listen to. Each time I have returned to the birthing space since that moment, I am overcome by a feeling of returning home, to that sacred space of the in-between.

Birth Photography Prices
2023: Birth Photography Investment: $1200 plus tax
My birth photography rate includes me being on call 10 days prior to your due date up until two weeks after your due date, photography of active labor (up to 8 hours), and up to 90 minutes of after-birth photography. After I capture the initial bonding time between parents & baby, I will be on my way so you can enjoy some private time. Birth story investment also includes a set of all high-resolution images with reproduction release.
After the session, I have the option for you to add on a beautiful keepsake album and include all of your favorites from birth (20 pages):
- 8 x8 Essex Album $550
- 10 x 10 Essex Album: $650
All Birth Photography Coverage Includes
- Consultation to discuss birth plans
- On-call from 10 days prior to your birth to 2 weeks after
- Documentation of birth includes up to 8 hours of labor coverage, beginning with active labor, continuing through delivery, and up to 1 hour after birth
- Payment plans and packages are available with the option to add on fresh 48, 6-month, and first-year portraits.
An $800 retainer is due to book me as your birth photographer. The remaining balance is due at 36 weeks. Because of the unpredictable nature of birth, if I miss the birth for any reason, birth story coverage is transferable to a family session to be used within 1 year of birth with my husband Brian Shaw.
