We’re so excited to share Danea & Shannon’s engagement session at Surfside beach in Nantucket. In early September we traveled to Nantucket to photograph Danea and Shannon’s wedding that was taking place near Surfside Beach at the Hi Hostel. Since the majority of our weddings are destination weddings with couples who live all over the world, we sometimes don’t get a chance to meet up with our couples in person before their wedding day. We’re pretty easy going and comfortable people so while we are completely fine meeting for the first time in person on your wedding day, we’re also ALWAYS open to scheduling a mini engagement session the week of the wedding, on site somewhere near the wedding. It gives us a chance to work with you before your wedding day and get you comfortable in front of the camera, while also giving you a chance to sneak away and enjoy a few minutes together away from the high energy of guests arriving in from out of town and all the last minute to-do’s that come with hosting a destination wedding.
We’re so grateful Danea and Shannon chose to sneak away and meet up with us a few days before their wedding so we could get to know them a little more personally. They are both artist and designers from Massachusetts who met and fell in love while attending Massachusetts College of Art and Design. They recently relocated to Seattle where they co-operate Shanman Clay Co. where Shannon makes house wares + sculptural items and Danea creates jewelry. They create house ware objects with the intention of bringing warmth and comfort to the owners, which is exactly the type of people Danea & Shannon are: upon meeting them at their engagement session they are SO warm-hearted and have a sense of comfort they carry with them that welcomes you right in like a big hug. We spent the last hour of light exploring the shoreline of Surfside beach and are so thankful for the opportunity to spend a little more one on one time with these two beautiful souls before they got swept away by the magic of there wedding day.
We’re eyeing being back on Nantucket between September and October of 2018, if not sooner. If you’d like to learn more about our Nantucket wedding collections, say hello here.
