Family Photos with Your Dog
Naples Photography: A Diverse Landscape for Every Family Member Even Your Dog
One of my absolute favorite aspects of photographing families in Naples, Florida, is the incredible diversity of landscapes available. As a coastal city, pristine beaches are always just a short drive away, offering stunning backdrops for classic beach portraits. However, when families include their beloved canine companions, finding the perfect location can be a bit trickier. While most Naples beaches restrict dogs, the city boasts numerous beautiful parks where furry friends are welcome to join the fun.
This was the case with the wonderful Stowell family. They were eager for classic beach photos but also wanted their cherished dog to be part of the experience. To make their vision a reality, I suggested a unique approach: we’d begin our session at the enchanting Baker Park and then seamlessly transition to the breathtaking coastline.
Baker Park: A Natural Playground
Baker Park is truly a hidden gem in Naples. Imagine lush green trails winding through a tranquil oasis, creating the most idyllic setting for family portraits. The park’s serene ambiance, coupled with its dog-friendly policy, makes it an ideal choice for families who want to include their furry loved ones in their photo session.
Naples Beach: A Coastal Paradise
Naples Beach is known for its fine white sand beaches and calm Gulf Coast waters. Having your family session at the beach offers a chance to capture the essence of coastal living and create timeless memories. With plenty of beach entrances to choose from you can normally find one that is relatively empty for a more intimate family session setting. Just remember, pets are not allowed on most public beaches so below are a few tip on how to plan your ideal family session while still including your furry friend.
Capturing Beach Memories with Your Furry Friend: Tips for a Successful Session
We had an absolute blast exploring Baker Park and the beach during this session! If you’re dreaming of capturing stunning family photos with your beloved dog, while also enjoying a magical sunset at the beach, here are a few helpful tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience:
-
Start at the Park: Begin your session at the park approximately 60-90 minutes before sunset. Since most parks are located further inland, the sun’s rays are less harsh, and the shade cast by the trees creates some of the most enchanting light well before the sun dips below the horizon.
-
Beach Parking Essentials: Make sure you have a valid beach pass to access any of the downtown beach entrances. If you don’t have a pass, please inform your photographer beforehand so they can choose a beach entrance with metered parking options.
-
Pet Care Considerations: To ensure your dog’s comfort and safety, either bring a friend or family member to stay with them at the park while you enjoy your beach photos. Alternatively, be prepared to leave your furry friend in the car with access to water and the air conditioning running during the beach portion of your session.
By following these simple tips, you can create a memorable and stress-free experience for both your family and your beloved pet, capturing beautiful moments that will be cherished for years to come.
