When we received Brittany & Ryan’s e-mail in our inbox, our hearts sighed with happiness; an invitation back to Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, Adirondacks to photograph an intimate ceremony surrounded by 14 of their closes friends, and of course, their adordable puppy.
The ceremony started a little after 5:30, so we had only a few minutes for portraits before we, (politely), got asked to leave at 6pm. In an attempt to create a few more portraits, I got the bright idea to walk down the mountain rather than choose the simple elevator ride. The park ranger (or mountain ranger?) followed us down the side which sort of made me nervous, so our walk became a little bit of a brisk run in order to make space between the ranger & ourselves, (this is where I fell on my ass, but ever-so-gracefully I must say.), and in a way,the fall was the only thing that grounded me (literally) back down to earth. We finished up at Lake Placid Brewery where Brittany & Ryan held a small dinner party with their friends & family who had gathered on the mountain with them. I’m so excited to share this day with you & I won’t lie, I’m secretly hoping that weddings on tops of mountains becomes a more routine thing for us & I fully promise to invest in better shoes if it does.
We travel for destination weddings all the time. If you’re interested in having us travel for your wedding, say hello here and we’ll send along our wedding investment information and answer any questions you may have about our process 🙂
