It’s Brian here! Christina usually does the majority of writing and sharing on the blog but I’m taking over to talk about my film family sessions.
For the last two years I have felt a strong connection to shooting film over digital. I am not going to go into all the reasons why, (perhaps in a future post). But I will say I was beginning to feel disconnected from my work. I wanted to slow down and get back to the WHY I started photographing in the first place. The excitement of capturing moments for people and providing them with tangible proof they lived and they loved.

When my daughter was born, I gave myself a personal goal of shooting ONLY film when taking images of Vera. Slowly film started to creep into all of my personal work. I began to feel the overwhelming urge to incorporate it into my professional work, specifically in my family sessions.

So, I decided to put out a call to our Instagram followers for a marketing rate film session. I was so happy when one of our previous wedding clients was the first to apply! We first met the Pacifico’s back in 2014 when we photographed their beautiful wedding, and now they have an adorable 2 year old son Arlo. I met up with them at their home in Hamburg, New York I photographed them in their beautiful backyard.
