Film Photography Inspired Styled Shoot with Wild Blossom Hollow and Exhale Events

When Katharine Phillips from Katharine Phillips Design reached out to us to photograph a Film Photography Inspired styled shoot with the talented florist Christy from Wild Blossom Hollow we were so excited so say yes! We have been following both of their work on Instagram for over a year but this was the first time we got the chance to work together and it was amazing to collaborate with like-minded creatives who share a passion for the wedding industry.

Where did the inspiration from the styled shoot come from?

From Katharine from Katharine Phillips Design: “I think the two elements that were really important to me in this shoot was using the bleached florals since they’re a new trend up and coming and then having film be used. I think Christy really can speak more on the colors because she knows that our personal style leans towards the bright and airy (hence the dreaminess of the bleached Italian Ruscus), but she said she wanted a color that would really pop so she talked about the yellows and oranges and I took that and ran with it in terms of selecting items for the tablescape! Ended up fitting perfectly in my mind since those colors are so warm and I’m looking forward to warmer weather coming”

From Christy from Wild Blossom Hollow: “I still can’t believe that Katharine reached out to me to help her with the floral design for this shoot. I love the light yet modern aesthetic of Katharine’s work and couldn’t wait to bring her vision to life. Katharine has been loving these bleached Italian Ruscus’ for months now and I finally figured out how to order them. These aren’t something that I can grow, but I love Katharine’s modern designs and how she focuses on the small details to bring couples visions to life. Using spring flowers that I do grow in the fields such as ranunculus and dutch iris aloud me to put my own little farm fresh feel into Katharine’s vision.  I love the way Brian and Christina brought the whole vision together with their incredible photography, using digital and film to help capture the aesthetic Katharine was looking for. Being a wedding florist in the Buffalo, NY area is so incredibly rewarding and I love that it allows me to grow and create unique yet natural designs.”
