Garden Inspired Wedding at The Garret Club
Sam and Katie met in the most serendipitous way. They met at a Holiday Party, for a company neither of them worked for! Katie was a date of her roommate’s co-worker, and Sam was working the event at The Hotel Lafayette. The two kept finding moments to talk to each other, and Sam gave her his phone number. After their first date, they knew it was meant to be, and have been together ever since!
The couple was mean to get married in August 2020, but as many couples had to do during the pandemic, they had to postpone. They decided on July 2021, and while postponing wasn’t an ideal decision, there were a few silver linings. All of their vendors were available, and Katie got a little more time to plan everything!
Modern Wedding Day Style
For her wedding day style, Katie wanted a classic and minimalist gown. She went to LoversLand in Canada and chose the first gown she tried on. Her gown, Gwendolyn by Savannah Miller, had all of the right elements for her. It was timeless, feminine, and modern, all at once. The gorgeous silk crepe fit her perfectly, and the detachable cape made for incredible photos.
A Classic Euro-Garden Wedding Design
When deciding on the theme and decor, Katie coined the theme “euro-garden.” She began to draw inspiration from natural and dreamy locations you would find in the hills of Italy. This was important to the couple since both she and Sam have Italian heritage. Their venue, The Garret Club, was the perfect spot for their European garden-inspired affair! The Garrett Club is a historic home in Elmwood Village, which combines the elegance of historic Buffalo with gardens all around.
Garden-Inspired Wedding Reception at The Garret Club
As Katie designed the spaces, she thought of it as designing her own home. The reception took place in the Garret room, which has high lofty ceilings and dark wood. To make the space more airy and modern, they added sheer while ceiling drape, making the space a little more intimate. Long Sicilian-style tables were covered in white linens, with organic centerpieces and lots of candlelight.
Fern Croft Floral made gorgeous floral arrangements that felt like they were hand-picked from a garden that morning. For the table number and vases, Katie had custom pieces made by Peach Pit Pottery. They added the perfect handmade touch and are unique keepsakes! The Garret Club created a completely custom menu, filled with handmade pasta and custom appetizers to tie in the Italian theme.
Every single detail was absolutely perfect, and Katie and Sam loved every minute! It is always such an honor to capture weddings and create these timeless memories.
