In-Home Newborn photography | Naples, Florida
Southwest Florida is known for its gorgeous white sand beaches, so naturally, that is what comes to mind when you start thinking of having your family photos taken here in Naples, Florida. Of course, a sunset beach session is spectacular, but sometimes it’s not the best option, especially when it comes to newborn photos.
When Brittany reached out looking for newborn photos I was excited that she had a home with big windows and bright, natural light flowing. For newborns, in-home family sessions are my preferred way to photograph them because it makes it the easiest for the family and the newborn itself. Also, newborn sessions are ideal when you photograph them at a time that works best for the baby and the parents. Usually, that time is morning or midday and that’s not always the best time to be outdoors in Florida. Now that we are approaching the warmer seasons in Florida, in-home sessions can often be preferable to being outside in the 80-90 degree heat. Not only that, but in-home newborn sessions make it easy for older siblings to jump in and out of photos without much stress!
Oftentimes, families are nervous about having family photos taken in their homes because they’ll have to get the house “photo ready” before the session, but that is simply not true. I usually suggest just concentrating on one or two of the brightest rooms (let the rest of the house be what it is!). Some simple tips are to open all window blinds to the full max. You may want to remove some of the things in that room that would interfere with photos like bright red toys or garbage bins that are full, but for the most part, a simple tidying works to make it photo ready. After-all, we’re concentrating on you and your babes together and the rest fades away into the background.
The other perks of an in-home newborn family session in Florida is that you can easily include your fur-family members like dogs and cats! In this instance, their beautiful dog added so much to the family session and completed the picture of what their home life looks like.
