Solstice 2014:
We met up with Mara & Dan on a brisk sunday afternoon in their city apartment that has insanely beautiful views of downtown Buffalo. We exchanged gifts, lit off fireworks on their rooftop & drank green tea: sharing stories of our past and the hopes for our futures. We’ve officially entered our slow season and while in the past we’d hit a creative lull and checked out, this year we’ve come to recognize and soak in the goodness that comes with having less to do. With this extra time we’ve been given we’ve felt an overwhelming call to listen. We’ve been filled with inspiration from the people we’re meeting and the stories they’ve been sharing with us and in the most quiet moments of them all, we’ve even started to hear our own voices speak up. We left Mara & Dan’s reminded to create, create, and create some more. Even when the days are darkest and the nights are longest & resistance feels like it’s winning, we’ve still got to show up and create.
