We’ve been photographing weddings for almost 10 years and it goes without saying that you have to keep yourself excited about your craft by doing personal work. Personal works’ importance is in it’s ability to keep you inspired, engaged and curious about something that can otherwise become second nature.
We are so excited to share a styled shoot we photographed back in March with Styling, planning, & coordination by Parkdale. Emily and Mike are past wedding clients of ours that have impeccable attention to detail and some of the most outstanding planning and coordination skills we’ve ever seen. They put together an incredible team of vendors to create a beautiful and simple story of an intimate celebration.
Styling by Parkdale Please
The color palette was filled with deep reds, soft creams, and touches of neutral wood and black. Specifically, the touch of tulips was perfect for this spring affair and was styled by Wild Blossom Hollow. Wild Blossom Hollow is a flower farm and design company in Forestville NY, that overlooks gorgeous rolling hills of fresh flowers. In fact, they are inspired by color and texture, and their work for this photoshoot shows their attention to detail!
The bridal dresses were from Made By Anatomy, a studio that specializes in artfully designed and beautifully handmade wedding dresses. They allow brides to create the dress of their dreams, or redesign an heirloom gown. The dresses for this shoot were so effortless! For example, one bride wore a high neck dress with a center slit and some sparkle on the waist. The other bride wore the Ruby dress, which is a modern sheath with chiffon bell sleeves. Both compliment each other, while also showing off each brides personality. Hair and Makeup by Halo Salon completed the looks, with fresh flowers as the hairpieces. Their makeup was soft and natural, with a touch of blush.
Ro Home Shop
In addition, we had the pleasure of working with Ro Home Shop, and their incredible pieces. Christina interviewed the owner, Hayley, for her interview series that focused on local small businesses. The Ro Home Shop space is a stunning, modern, and filled with functional design. Above all, their pieces fit with the theme in complete harmony!
Desserts by Butter Block laid across the table, with a fresh pie, and croissants. Butter Block is a local small-batch bakery, that does pop-ups across the Buffalo area. Their treats are so delicious, and are a must-try! The stationary by Rust Belt Love completed the look, with natural paper invitations, hand-dipped in blush. In addition, their designs are completely custom and handmade, with them assembled one by one in their studio.
