We haven’t blogged a wedding in a while, though we have many on the back burner we’re hoping to release to the public this year. Every time we blog, it feels like we’re releasing a tiny bit of ourselves to the world and while it’s exciting, it’s incredibly emotional as well. To pull apart small bits and pieces of a complete day and stitch them back together for the reader to make sense, to show the ones that resonate with us the strongest, while knowingly leaving out important moments to the couple and to share the way we see the world, exposing the beauty in having your own point of view and of course, flaws that come along with our interpretation.
This wedding is near & dear to our hearts for so many reasons. Sara and Jason have become fast friends to us over the course of the year and it was such an honor to photograph and be a part of their outdoor & intimate celebration of their marriage. These are exactly the type of weddings we love to be a part of, the stories we hope to tell- intimate & personal, documenting people up close. Sara and Jason are exceptional people- from the moment we were booked, we were welcomed in to their story with warmness and gratitude and we are so grateful our paths have crossed. We can not say enough about working alongside them- picking out a few favorites, (okay maybe more than a few), to show from their wedding was harder than expected, but we wanted to share a bit of this magical and charming wedding day with you. We hope you enjoy this preview as much as we do 🙂
And this is the first time we’re trying this, but our talented friend Jonathon from, The Bones of J.R. Jones, released a new record recently, (Spirit’s Furnace- it’s incredible- you should likely go download it now! ), and we felt this song was perfect to set the mood of their incredible day.
